CUSMA Is Bad For Canada, Elbows Up!
JULY 1ST, 2026 | GRANT JOHNSON
The “Elbows Up!” crowd is still going strong.
This, despite the reality on the ground showing up full blast in the form of a recession and endless gridlock, and the same old Woke Liberal policies bringing forth a Net Zero green future of mass immigration and unaffordable everything.
The CUSMA deal is soon to be finalised, and it looks like the U.S. is going to create a situation in which the deal has to be renewed and renegotiated annually…which basically means constantly. The uncertainty alone is going to drive investment out of Canada like we haven’t seen since…last year, I guess?
Mark Carney is the ultimate snake oil salesman. He stands in front of a podium and makes a grand announcement, and the media receives it breathlessly and reports it to the rubes coast-to-coast, who receive this news like it’s baked in fact. Then everyone celebrates doing victory laps before anything even begins. It’s like Trudeau’s solar power, or battery plants, or 2-billion-tree schtick over and over and over again, and nobody seems to realize that none of it is real.
Our dollar is at 70 cents. Inflation is creeping towards 4%. Our debt is exploding.
I’ve written all this before. Time keeps ticking. Things keep moving.
The reality is that it takes years and years for consequences to arrive. The consequences of Mark Carney selling Canada out to Davos NWO Brookfield types is that the rubes eat up the controlled media stories while the country gets gutted and crushed. Trump takes the blame for now, but just wait. Mark Carney will eventually get revealed. It might take another year…it might take another five years…but eventually Carney will get Mulroney’d hard.
Doesn’t do the average Canadian much good, though. One of our biggest problems, however, is the average Canadian. We’re a heavily propagandised nation of retards. It is what it is. My interest in day-to-day politics has waned severely over the past couple of years due to the final realisation that Canada is going to Canada regardless of what lessons there are to learn.
You’ve got to protect yourself from the decline.
Predictions?
CUSMA will probably not be good for Canada no matter what happens. Unless Trump does an about face and just goes back to hard free trade, we’re doomed. International countries that used Canada as a backdoor to the American market will just bite the bullet and do business directly in the U.S. This is what Trump wanted all along. Just bypass Canada and either get direct investment in the U.S. or develop and spend within the American market. The post-World War 2 era of integration on the continent is over. America is just going to excel full speed ahead for its own benefit.
Canada will stagnate much akin to Argentina after 1930. For those who don’t know Argentina…it was one of the richest countries in the world in 1913. When the Great Depression hit, Argentina was never the same. Political instability and economic malaise followed. It was a process that went on for decades. When I was there about ten years ago, I was buying currency on the black market, and it was in the process of massive inflation. It wasn’t until Melei took over that great change began to take place, but the jury is still out.
Canada began its great socialist experiment with Pierre Trudeau in 1968 and it didn’t end until 1984. The shockwave followed thereafter and resonated for decades. Mulroney struggled with the fallout and ended up taking much of the blame. The severity of austerity in the 90s basically caused Canada a lost decade of opportunity and declining living standards from which we never fully recovered.
Stephen Harper tried to fundamentally arrest and resolve many of Canada’s fundamental issues, but it was obvious (in hindsight) that his terms as Prime Minister were futile. Justin Trudeau showed up and pushed Canada over the cliff. Mark Carney is the cleanup man who is basically a camouflaged version of Gordon Gecko from the movie Wall Street.
Is Carney a part of some New Order cabal working with Trump to soften Canada up by running up our debt and nerfing our prospects so that we can be completely ensnared into America’s orbit? A territory? A state?
Or is Carney the quintessential globalist banker who is beyond America and beholden to the jet-setter Davos class for whom everything is Woke A.I. and green tech and gay, race Communism?
One thing he is not, is a patriot and nationalist who has the best interests of average Canadians at heart.
The old spectre of “How would Poilievre be any better!!!” shouted at conservative-minded people by brainwashed leftist progressives is no longer resonating. My answer is…he wouldn’t be. The Conservative Party of Canada is pretty useless and long past its best-before date.
This is shocking to people still inside the left/right matrix. For those of us who’ve been radicalised post-Covid, old-style politics is no longer relevant, and the end is near. Preparing for a post-politics in the new global order is interesting, but somewhat depressing. Seeing people slowly catch up to the fact that Canada is ending is enlightening, but not surprising. We’ve got a long way to go, and people have a lot more to learn.
Elbows Up will be the end of the old us.
